Your participation is incredibly valuable to us

Received an email this morning asking me to participate in a user survey re the NYC Parking App, through which one can pay street parking charges and extensions remotely via credit card, without quarters. From the request: “Your participation is incredibly valuable to us.”

I think I will pass on this. I might have done it if my participation were just “merely” valuable. I don’t understand why it would be “incredibly” valuable. When they first started out with the idea of this survey, did they doubt that user participation would have any value? And so, were they astonished to find out that there is value after all in polling one’s user base? If my participation is so “incredibly” valuable – which means, after all, not believably valuable – then I think I will pass.

A meaningful Memorial Day to All
