David Lacher is the founder and principal of LacherLaw, which formerly was known as Law Office of David Lacher. Since 2004, the office has been located in downtown New Rochelle, next to the New Haven line train station and overlooking the Long Island Sound and several of the major construction projects that are in various stages of completion. Mr. Lacher is a highly experienced, client-focused attorney whose practice is concentrated in the areas of wills, trusts and estates administration; residential and commercial real estate and land use (including appearances before local zoning and planning boards and Industrial Development Agencies); and corporate and commercial transactions.

Mr. Lacher is well-known in the New Rochelle community for the many boards and public organizations which he has served. He is the current President of the New Rochelle Bar Association, where his portfolio of responsibilities includes, in addition to his presidential duties, coordinator of the state-recognized Lawyer in the Classroom program for every 5th grade student in the New Rochelle public schools, as well as the law initiative for high school-age participants at the New Rochelle Boys & Girls Club and the Law At the Library program conducted in partnership with the New Rochelle Public Library Foundation. Since its inception he has served as pro bono General Counsel to the New Rochelle Hudson Park Children’s Greenhouse organization. Four times he has been the instructor for continuing legal education sessions offered by the New Rochelle Bar Association, on four different topics – most recently, the newly-effective federal Corporate Transparency Act.

In 2017, Mr. Lacher completed 25 years as a five-time elected member of the New Rochelle Board of Education. He served two separate tenures as president of that Board. For 13 years he was an active member of the board of the New Rochelle Industrial Development Agency, the entity which provides significant financial incentives to promote community economic development. His honors and awards include the Educator award from the New Rochelle Branch of the NAACP, the Educational Leader of the Year award from the New Rochelle Chamber of Commerce, and he also was honored by the Interreligious Council of New Rochelle. He also received a special citation from the New Rochelle City Council for his enterprising efforts as part of the group that sought to attract the world headquarters of UNICEF to downtown New Rochelle. For the last several years he has been a popular judge at the Yale University Invitational Intercollegiate Mock Trial Tournament and the annual New Haven Regional Competition of the American Mock Trial Association held at Yale.

Before founding LacherLaw, Mr. Lacher worked in the legal departments of several public and private corporations including Merck & Co., Inc., Saks Fifth Avenue, and two public companies in the telecommunications industry. He began his legal training in the Wall Street law firm of Mudge Rose Guthrie Alexander & Ferdon, followed by the Park Avenue firm of Reavis & McGrath, which has evolved over the years into the present-day Norton Rose Fulbright US LLP. His other law firm associations included Moy, Lacher & Kim, P.C. and Lacher & Fox.
